From 1988, this was the 3rd single taken from the album 'Rock The World'. Unfortunately the new image and tougher rockier sound really wasn't sitting to well with the fans, and this track gave them one of the lowest chart positions. The single peaked at #61 in the UK charts. One final single was released from the album, 'Let Me Be Yours', which saw the return of a more soulful Five Star but this wasn't enough and it peaked at #51. 'There's A Brand New World' is a bit of a rock/rop anthem and certainly deserved better success.

I used to have this cd, where is is I don't know. I also had Hot Looks and I think I still have Treat Me Like A Lady LOL. Thanks for the 12" Mix
Love it. Five Star ROCK!!
Great track - all the Rock The World singles were pretty sound and a shame they didn't achieve greater success - perhaps the leather/hair extensions image was a mistake. Do you have the 12" version of With Every Heartbeat? That was their last great single.
FIVE STAR - how I LOVE them !!
The best group in the history of the world, and I thank you for featuring them.
This song is a masterpiece, both versions.
It's all about the bit where the muisc stops and she says '''gnuh gnuh''.
Fabulous.

Nice to see LaToya in your blog too - her work in the 80s was sublime.
All you need now is some Jets and Debarge to continue that 80s pop soul family vibe! I highly recommend "Who's Holding Donna" from Debarge to be shared with the world!

One of my favorite 5 Star songs. I once drove for 90 minutes and just played this one song on repeat. Thanks for the 12".
