Gina G - Every Time I Fall

From 1997, this was the final single to be released from Gina G's debut album "Fresh". Her pop career started off exceptionally well, with the #1 hit "Ooh Aah...Just A Little Bit", but with each subsequent single her chart positions seemed to get lower and lower. Sadly "Every Time I Fall" was her lowest charting single from the "Fresh" album, peaking at #142 in Israel, #79 in Australia, #60 in Japan, and #52 in the UK.

Despite its low chart performance I still think it's a little pop gem. It's a great pop ballad, and was given some good dance mixes from the likes of Todd Terry & Metro. The best of these mixes, in my opinion, is the Metro Eurobeat Mix.

It has a great video too, which is reminiscent of Kylie's "Put Yourself In My Place" video from 1994.

TRACKLISTING:

Every Time I Fall (Radio Version)
Every Time I Fall (Todd Terry Radio Mix)
Every Time I Fall (Todd Terry Pop Mix II)
Every Time I Fall (Metro's Eurobeat Mix)
Every Time I Fall (Gina's Dub Todd Terry Mix)

Thanks so much for this posting. Personally, I don't care much for this track, but am glad to have its mixes. "Follow The Light," "Rhythm of My Life" or "It Doesn't Mean Goodbye" would've been much better choices for singles. I'm assuming that Gina was trying to broaden her appeal with another ballad instead the dance pop that made her famous. Any chance you have mixes for "Gimme Some Love"? Thanks again. G.

Thank you SO much for posting these mixes. Believe it or not, I've been looking for these for a long time. I first heard the remix to this on a compilation disc many years ago, but I was never able to find the single and I didn't know the original version was a ballad, so I was disappointed to hear the original on the album, so I want to thank you for making me very happy by posting these mixes. THANK YOU!!!!!:)

Thanks for the link. I was a big fan of Gina G back when I was still in high school. I had her cassette but it's broken.

I googled the net and found your link. So thank you. "Every Time I Fall" is one of my most favorite songs ever! :)

Good to see various mixes of this song but I still prefer the album version coz I'm not a fan of house-music rhythm.

Thanks again...

The album mix is too slushy for me, but the Todd Terry radio mix hits the spot as does the Metro edit with those piano keys during the instrumental middle-8, which makes it sound like another dance classic from 1997, Gala's Freed From Desire.

Great blog btw!
