Lulu - Hurt Me So Bad

From 1999, 'Hurt Me So Bad' was the first single from her provisionally titled album 'Where The Poor Boys Dance'. Ultimately though, due to the lack of success of the single, the album was not released. Although the single peaked at #42 in the UK charts it was a hit in the dance charts. It certainly helped that the track had been remixed by Almighty and also Club 69 (a.k.a. Peter Rauhofer). It's a great piece of late 90's pop and certainly deserved better success than it achieved.

Lulu - Independence

From 1993, this track saw Lulu return to the UK charts after nearly a 7 year absence - her last hit being a re-recorded version of "Shout" (UK #8, August 1986). For its release, the song was remixed by Brothers In Rhythm, and the track peaked at #11 in the UK charts in February 1993.

The album "Independence" followed, along with further hits - "I'm Back for More" (UK #27, April 1993), "Let Me Wake Up In Your Arms" (UK #51, September 1993), "How 'Bout Us" (UK #46, December 1993), and of course the collaboration with Take That "Relight My Fire" (UK #1, October 1993).
